James Vogt, CPA
Vice President, Partner Real Estate Tax Strategy
Jim Vogt graduated from the University of Florida in 1999 with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. He began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he had increasing roles of responsibility and ultimately became a manager in the real estate practice for the firm. He advised clients in full real estate life cycle, including matters ranging from strategic planning and property transaction advisory to capital formation, and business plan execution. In addition, he has expertise in governance, board matters, mergers and acquisitions, and IRS conflict matters.
In 2006, he joined Starwood Hotels and Resorts as a Senior Manager in charge of the company’s vacation ownership tax function. In 2010, he became the Director of Tax for Intersil, a publicly traded multinational tech company based in the Silicon Valley area. He helped the company reduce their overall effective tax rate through implementation of several international tax planning strategies. In addition, he successfully completed 10 years of IRS audits which resulted in $100M in savings. In 2014, he joined iQor as the Senior Vice President of global tax and oversaw operations in 65 different countries around the world. During his time at iQor, he led the team through $1B in acquisitions, several divestures, and successful completion of federal, state, and international audits.
He co-founded Vogt Investments, LLC in 2012 with the company primarily focusing on multi-family housing. The company is a partner in many AGPM properties. In 2020, he joined AGPM full time working on investment management, back-office operations, and tax matters.
