From 1983 to 1988, Mr. Zimmerman worked for Florida National Bank and Home Federal Bank handling over $500 million in new loan production primarily involving multifamily lending. In 1989, his responsibilities shifted from lending to REO and workouts for Home Federal Bank, where he was directly responsible for a $250 million portfolio of multifamily developments throughout the Southeast USA. In 1991, Scott shifted from the loan production and REO industry 1991 and assumed a role as Vice President for Professional Management, Inc. During his tenure, he handled all aspects of the acquisition, rehabilitation, and repositioning of countless multifamily developments. In 2000, Scott formed PMCFI to handle all third-party fee management services for a portfolio which had grown from referrals to over 12,000 units prior to an organized acquisition/merge of Reliance.
Following the acquisition/merger, PMCFI became Banyan Realty Management – and by 2005, Banyan grew to over 25,000 units throughout the United States. Scott continued to grow and scale the company and he assisted Mountstreet holdings on the acquisitions of Trammell Crow, Omni Management, and Stratus. As a result of these acquisitions, Scott merged reformed Banyan Realty Management to CAS-Riverstone Management, with over 100,000 residential units under management – becoming the largest private multifamily third party property management company in the country at that time.
In 2008, Scott sold his interest in CAS-Riverstone Management and formed AGPM, LLC to focus on acquisitions and the operational management of owned assets. AGPM, LLC quickly grew to 20,000 units primarily concentrated in Florida. In partnership with Lou Vogt, Scott launched an investment program into affordable housing, gaining control of approximately 13,000 multifamily units, which marked the start of AGPM, LLC as an owner/operator of premier multifamily assets throughout the country. Also in partnership with Lou Vogt, Scott formed Banyan Development Group, LLC (BDG) in 2016 and currently serves as Managing Member. BDG is an affiliate company focused on new construction development initiatives throughout the state of Florida.
